An experienced medical educator and consultant, Dr. John Kriak has contributed his insights to textbooks, other publications, and speaking engagements for nearly two decades. As an employee of Kaplan, Inc., since the mid-1990s, Dr. Kriak has created questions for the Kaplan medEssentials United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) preparation book and the Kaplan dentEssentials National Dental Board Examination (NDBE) preparation book. He also wrote the Kaplan Pharmacy College Admissions Test (PCAT) Comprehensive Review. In 2008, Dr. Kriak supported a five-credit continuing medical education program by contributing to TJDL Consulting Solutions’ book Managing the Challenging Patient: A Guide to the Physician-Patient Relationship. Other publications have featured his writing on erectile dysfunction, degenerative arthritis, type 2 diabetes, anemia, and pediatric and geriatric pain management. In presentations in front of the Federal Bureau of Prisons, the National Conference for Nurse Practitioners, and the Association of Physician Assistants Programs, Dr. John Kriak has spoken on specialist consulting, dermatology, and the online instruction of pharmacology.
As an educator, Dr. Kriak teaches students and professionals about many medical areas, having functioned as a professor, instructor, and administrator at several colleges. In addition to his work with Kaplan relating to the USMLE, PCAT, and NDBE, Dr. John Kriak produces practice exams and educational material for people preparing to take the North American Pharmacist Licensure Examination. He also provides support to companies conducting clinical research through his consultancy, CAMMCO, LLC, offering guidance in scientific writing, program development, federal and commercial grant proposals, research trials, and more. Dr. John Kriak currently serves as a consultant for Arroki, Inc.; Dannemiller; and Goldblatt Systems.
Dr. Kriak holds degrees from Duquesne University and certifications from LifeScan, Inc., and Novo Nordisk. He lives in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, following Pittsburgh professional sports teams and listening to music, watching television, and reading medical books and journals during his spare time.
